Music composer Beethoven created his symphony number 9 just before his death, in conditions when he had become totally deaf. He adopted poet Schiller's Ode to Joy as the theme for the fourth movement to express his passion and praise to life. Hong Kong local artist LUI Chi-ming and CHAN Wing-sang use mixed media and painting respectively to express their believes in life and to explore the meaning that lies within existence.

"ArtAlive@Park - Dash of Time" Public Art Scheme
ArtAlive@Park is a large-scale public art project presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and organised by the Department’s Art Promotion Office. It aims to nurture a new generation of young artists by providing an opportunity for students from the fine arts, design and architecture departments of four local universities to showcase their artistic talents. The students’ artworks, installed in the Hong Kong Park, Sha Tin Park, Kowloon Park and Tuen Mun Park, blend in with and give an artistic touch to these public parks. In addition, spectacular performances by various arts groups are staged in the parks on weekends and holidays to let visitors join in the fun.
